Prayer of Salvation

The Bible gives some specific instructions to follow in order to become a Christian, or in order to be born again. Look at Romans 10:8-11:
“[8] But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: [9] If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. [11]   As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”

Jesus said, “Whoever comes to me I will never drive away” (John 6:37).   No matter what kind of sinner you are, no matter what you have done, you can go to Jesus and He will accept you.   Once you go to Him, then He will cause you to be born again.   He will re-create you, and that sin which has been plaguing you will be a thing of the past.   It will be gone.   You will be accepted before God as if you have never sinned!

To be born again, you use your mouth and you use your heart.   First, you believe in your heart that God’s Word is true.   Then you confess it with your mouth because you believe it.

Say this prayer for salvation.     Make a conscious effort to speak these words from the very depths of your heart.   When you finish this prayer, you will be born again.

Dear God in Heaven, in the Name of Jesus, I present myself to You.

I pray and ask Jesus to be Lord over my life.

I believe it in my heart, so I say it with my mouth: “Jesus has been raised from the dead.”   This moment, I make Him the Lord over my life.

Jesus, come into my heart.   I believe this moment that I am saved, I say it now: “I am reborn.   I am a Christian.   I am a child of Almighty God.”   Thank you, Heavenly Father, for making me your child!

Colossians 1:12-14 NIV
[12] and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. [13] For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, [14] in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

You have just inherited the Kingdom of God!
